I decided to brave the retail stores to take advantage of clothing sales. The store was scheduled to close at 11:00 pm on Friday. We waited until around 9:45 pm. It was great and not so great. The crowds were thinned out, the clothing racks and dressing rooms were cleaned, there were plenty of people to help, and no waiting to checkout. No crowds, 30% and more off on each item, the store had already been cleaned and organized, and no waiting in the checkout line.
The problem came when I looked in the mirror and I saw the muffin top that apparently would come with the new jeans; or the beautiful dress that I tried on and turned it into a costume fit for Alice in Wonderland. If I’m going to look like a muffin, hopefully it is something fitting for the holidays, like a pumpkin spice with cream in the middle.
I immediately went home, cleaned the refrigerator out, and started planning my new workouts. The Fitbit I just got is about to get a lot of use. From now on, sleep, eating better, (that includes no more Carvell’s ice cream from Schlotzky’s, dark chocolate, salami, lots and lots of cheese, and anything else that actual tastes good.
Anyone else want to join me? I’ll let you know how it goes.
Carpe Diem!
