A paralegal by trade, I dream of having a job as a writer of a seedy underground New York paper column, where I earn enough money to live in a well-maintained, but modest New York apartment, shop weekly for $400 shoes, and eat sushi nightly. Oh wait, that’s the main character of Sex and The City. I actually dream of writing entertaining material so I can earn enough money to feed my horse. Obviously, I have high aspirations.
On a more serious note, I love to write, ride my horse, practice yoga, walk, hike, swim, workout and garden. I’m the perfect candidate for a feminine product commercial. In my real life, I work for lawyers and volunteer for trade associations, writing and speaking occasionally on continuing legal education topics. In attempting to hone my writing skills outside of the legal world, I have scribbled various starts to fictions and short stories, and realized I enjoyed the art of writing. But in the midst of my new excitement for writing, the term “Blog” kept popping up on my Internet browser like a bad ad. Of course, I had to investigate and so to the blogosphere I went to embrace a new fad called “blogging.”
I started this blog in the summer of 2008 as place to entertain, poke fun at life, and offer jejune advice. It has morphed, grown, changed and hopefully will continue to exist.
Life is too short not to have fun. My hope is that this blog brings a smile, a chuckle, a grimace, or any emotion, through simple musings from observations of life. Nothing is sacred and comments are welcome. See Disclaimer.
Carpe Diem!
A friend sent me one of your blogs. I guess that is the correct terminology. Any way, I appreciate your ability to see the humor in everyday events like shopping at Walmart. You do a good job of conveying your thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Richard. I really appreciate it. Our friend told me you have a blog. Can I have the link?
Yea… I don’t really have a blog. I create and send out text messages using notes on my I phone. We do cover some of the same topics, mine are just a little rough around the edges. I will be happy to send you some of the things I have written or add you to my list. We do have a similar thoughts on what makes people smile.
Oh, I love the vague movie reference… I made the decision not to explain them; you either get it or you don’t.
